Most of my pieces take me about 2-3 business days to make before shipping. Some items can take less time or, like my hoops, can take longer, but I state the time frame for each item in its listing. If you're in a rush, please contact me. I can't guarantee I can get it done more quickly, but it never hurts to ask!
I ship via the United States Postal Service (USPS). The standard free shipping is regular Ground Advantage and generally takes anywhere from 2-5 business days depending on where you're located in the US (I ship from Massachusetts). I also offer shipping upgrades in the forms of USPS Priority Mail (usually 2-3 business days) and Priority Mail Express (usually 1-3 business days). Again, these time frames will vary depending on where you live and whether you live in a large city or more rural area. You can always contact me for a more accurate time frame!
Great question! Gold plated (a.k.a. "gold vermeil" or "gold dipped") is inexpensive but, quite frankly, a waste of money. It's a thin layer of gold electroplated (hence the name "plated") onto a base metal, usually silver. This creates a weak adherence and the gold quickly flakes off or wears away and you're left with a silvery toned piece of jewelry. Getting the jewelry wet with water or sweat expedites this process.
Gold filled, on the other hand, uses about twice the amount of gold in a special process of heat and extreme pressure to literally bond the gold to the base metal (usually brass). You can get it wet, shower in it, clean it, and with normal wear, it will not chip or flake away. If taken care of, it can last you several years if not a lifetime. Also, I only use 14k gold filled materials in my designs, some manufacturers will use 12k or even 10k. If it doesn't state the karat, always ask before you buy!
My business is located in the state of Massachusetts, so I am required by law to collect MA state sales tax on orders from being shipped to this state. I do not add state sales tax to orders being shipped to other states. It's the responsibility of the individual buyer to report out of state purchases.
The timeline varies depending on the design. Some more complex or detailed designs require a lot of communication back and forth, photos of prototypes, etc., to make sure I create exactly what you want, but I always give an approximate time frame before beginning the work.
